Cancer can carry a significant burden of pain and suffering, as is the case for women in late stages of cervical cancer. Palliative care, however, is not limited to end-of-life situations but should accompany the treatment process from the start. Unfortunately, a significant portion of the world population does not have access to appropriate pain relief and palliative care, particularly in LMICs.
