Bristol-Myers Squibb employees raise funds for UICC members

The 2nd edition of the European Country 2 Country 4 Cancer ride organised by Bristol-Myers Squibb will take place in September supporting the Union for International Cancer Control and selected members to raise funds with the aim of accelerating the fight against cancer and facilitating a better life for cancer patients.

About the 2017 Country 2 Country 4 Cancer Ride

After the great success of the first edition of the European Country 2 Country 4 Cancer ride in 2016, Bristol-Myers Squibb employees from across Europe will again ride over 3,600 km from Germany to the UK. Along the way, they will ride through Switzerland, Italy, France and Spain, all to raise funds for cancer research and organisations that support cancer patients in Europe. Each of the organisations benefiting are members of the Union for International Cancer Control.

In this 2nd edition of the ride starting on 8 September 2017 and lasting 18 days, 78 European Bristol-Myers Squibb team members will be riding in 6 different Country teams and each group will be performing a leg of the ride averaging 720 km in 3 days.

Who are the riders

Some are cancer survivors, others have witnessed the devastating impact of cancer on friends and family. All are dedicated Bristol-Myers Squibb employees who are riding to help raise funds to fight against cancer by supporting European cancer organisations, who are members of the Union for International Cancer Control.

Why raise funds for cancer organisations

Cancer is among the leading causes of death worldwide. Each year, there are 14 million new cases and 8.2 million cancer-related deaths worldwide, and these numbers are growing. Within the next two decades, the number of new cancer cases is estimated to rise to 22 million.

This is why Bristol-Myers Squibb has chosen to support the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and its members in their mission to reduce the global cancer burden and integrate cancer control into the world health and development agenda.

Encourage your colleagues, families and friends to donate, as cancer affects us all. Each team rides and raises funds for members of the Union for International Cancer Control.
