Starting 15th October 2019, around 350 global influencers and leaders in cancer control and public health from across governments, UN agencies, academia, non-profit organisations and private sectors will come together at the World Cancer Leaders’ Summit in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan’s capital, to focus on Cancer and achieving the vision of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
In a packed agenda to take place across three days, Universal Health Coverage will be a driving topic around critical issues, including:
“The recent adoption of the Political Declaration on UHC at the September UN High Level Meeting is a great step forward. We applaud the member states who have committed to investing an additional 1% of their national GDP on health. However, as the leaders of the cancer community, we will need to hold governments accountable to their commitment by ensuring swift action follows. The upcoming 2019 World Cancer Leaders’ Summit in Nur-Sultan provides us with the opportunity to set out our path to UHC and ensure no-one living with cancer is left behind.”
Dr Cary Adams, CEO, Union for International Cancer Control.
Key summit speakers include H.E. Nursultan Nazarbayev, First President of Kazakhstan, H.E. Dr Tabaré Vázquez, President of Uruguay, H.E. Madam Emine Erodgan, First Lady of Turkey, H.E.
