Breast Cancer Symposium – updates in management of breast cancer

Aga Khan University Hospital, a UICC Member, will be running the 1st International Breast Cancer Symposium on 19-20 April  2018 at the Trademark Hotel by Tribe in Nairobi, Kenya.

The symposium will explore all aspects of the patient's journey from diagnosis and treatment, to follow up including survivorship concerns like fertility preservation and breast reconstruction. A team of international and local experts will discuss updates in the management of breast cancers and adaptations of these to diverse resource settings.

The underlying ethos of this meeting is that low resource does not equal sub-optimal care. The symposium will include information about how best practice is changing and how to deliver optimum care to breast cancer patients.

Workshops will include:

  • Surgical Pathology Workshop
  • Oncology Nursing
  • Palliative Care
  • Best Practice Implementation
