5th International Global Cancer Conference on Advances in Cancer and Cancer Immunotherapy
AMITY CENTRE FOR TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH
(A Centre for Excellence initiative of Amity University), in association with the Global Cancer Consortium, organizes
5th INTERNATIONAL
GLOBAL CANCER CONSORTIUM CONFERENCE
29-31st January, 2025
Understanding complex biological processes involved in the progression of cancer is crucial for the health care system. However, human beings are still unsure of the precise sequence of events that cause healthy cells to become diseased or cancerous. Several pieces of evidence suggest a combined effect of the intrinsic molecular drivers, signal from the tumor microenvironment and the microbiome on tumor development and progression. Early detection and treatment has been effective in controlling the growth and relapse of several types of tumors. Next-generation sequencing (NGS) and other genomic technologies along with tumor imaging technologies have assisted researchers in identifying cancer at an early stage and developing various cancer directed interventions. Despite these advances, the incidence of cancer and mortality rate in the cancer patients continues to increase, and the World Health Organization has projected a 77% increase in global cancer burden by 2050. Such a staggering increase necessitates the community of oncologists and associated disciplines involved in cancer research, treatment and patient care to come forward and discuss various new avenues of managing and mitigating treatment refractory tumors. Of the various physiological systems, our immune system is robust and due to its plasticity it can favour either the host or the tumor depending on several extrinsic and intrinsic factors. Given this intricate balance, the tailoring of our immune system in favour of the host is believed to be of paramount significance in the management of cancer. Therefore, the main mandate of this conference is to discuss various modalities for developing transnationally viable cancer directed immune therapeutics for effective control of cancer in the community.
The conference will encompass preclinical and clinical models of tumors and identify detection and treatment modalities for various refractory cancers that are currently prevalent and expected to rise due to changing lifestyles. The conference will discuss various modalities that are currently available for the upliftment of the healthcare sector for developing cancer directed interventions. The conference will provide a forum for physicians and scientists to share their views and experiences in designing new immune – pharmaceuticals against cancers, potentially leading to collaboration among various national and international laboratories. With this outcome in mind, we have designed various sessions to cover topics that are not just limited to cancer as an isolated disease but also include idiopathic diseases associated with cancer progression. This conference aims to establish equitable collaboration with various national and international R&D labs and hospitals to conduct translational and clinical studies that are important for validating new pharmaceuticals against cancer.
ABOUT GLOBAL CANCER CONSORTIUM
In 2020, Markey Cancer Center (University of Kentucky) formed a Global Cancer Consortium with Tata Memorial Centre (Mumbai), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) Manipal, Saroj Gupta Cancer Centre and Research Institute (Kolkata) in India, and Mayo Clinic Cancer Center in USA. GCC now includes China Medical University, Taiwan, Brown University Legorreta Cancer Center, Kansas University Cancer Center, and autonomous Chapters in South Asia, East Asia, North American, and Europe (https://glocacon.org) GCC fosters global transdisciplinary collaborations in cancer education, research, treatment, and community outreach to overcome cancer.
