UICC announces candidates for Board of Directors and President-elect
UICC full members are encouraged to review candidates' profiles and cast their votes at the General Assembly on 8 October.
UICC is pleased to announce the candidates for the UICC Board of Directors and President-elect for the term 2024-2026. These individuals are distinguished leaders who have been nominated for their outstanding contributions to the field of cancer control and their commitment to the mission of UICC.
The successful 14 candidates, as part of the Board of Directors, will represent the interests of its members, providing strategic direction to the organisation and work with the team to implement the organisation’s ambition to unite and support the cancer community to reduce the global cancer burden, promote greater equity, and ensure that cancer control continues to be a priority in the world health and development agenda.
These candidates were selected by the Nominating Committee from among the many strong names submitted. Full members will vote during UICC’s General Assembly, the supreme governing body of UICC, which is convening virtually on 8 October 2024.
The Board of Directors plays a crucial role in governing UICC, providing leadership and strategic direction for all UICC activities. The Board is empowered to convene the General Assembly, establish and amend by-laws, determine annual membership fees, and delegate functions to represent UICC. The Board is composed of 16 voting members, including the President and the President-elect, each elected for a two-year term and eligible for re-election for two additional terms.
UICC encourages all of its full members to participate to cast their votes at the General Assembly, playing an essential role in shaping the future of UICC and cancer control worldwide.
