A moving tribute for Bristol Myers Squibb's C2C4C European and Latin American rides
Bristol Myers Squibb's C2C4C European ride kicks off, featuring an 'honour bike' tribute to past participants lost to cancer, while fundraising opens for the Latin American C2C4C ride set for December.
Fundraising has opened for the second edition of the Continent 2 Continent 4 Cancer (C2C4C) ride in Latin America, organised by UICC partner Bristol Myers Squibb, which will take place in December.
Bristol Myers Squibb's annual Country 2 Country 4 Cancer (C2C4C) European ride has begun! On 1 September and for the next three weeks, six teams consisting of more than 90 dedicated employees will be cycling through Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain and the UK.
Anticipation is also building for the Latin American C2C4C – Continent 2 Continent 4 Cancer – ride, scheduled from 2 to 13 December, with fundraising also kicking off on 1 September.
Cyclists will cover nearly 1,500 km from Pucón to Puerto Varas in Chile, raising funds for Latin American organisations fighting cancer under the umbrella of UICC. Participants hail from Brazil, adding to the roster of employees from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and the United States.
The introduction this year of the ‘honour bike’ marks a moving tribute to Pernilla Huetson (1974 - 2023) and Gitte Christiansen (1963 - 2023), two past C2C4C participants who passed away from cancer after a period of remission.
This specially designed bike will accompany the European ride's journey, standing as a heartfelt symbol of the loss and suffering that cancer inflicts on families and individuals – but also of the hope and resilience generated by the energy and enthusiasm of the men and women taking part in the C2C4C rides.
