Icon Group names Matthew Rundle as Middleton Scholar 2023

UICC is pleased to learn that its partner, Icon Group, has awarded Matthew Rundle the Middleton Scholarship for 2023 for his significant work and leadership at Icon Cancer Centre, Hobart.

The Middleton Scholarship is an annual award personally funded by Icon Group CEO Mark Middleton and his family. All applicants are judged and scored by Mark Middleton as well as Prof. Jeff Dunn, AO, President of UICC, and Prof Sanchia Aranda AM, Chair of City Cancer Challenge (C/Can).

Matthew's achievements include the establishment of a genetic counselling service, a clinical research programme, initiating Tasmania's first private cancer multidisciplinary meetings, and participation in Icon's Future Leaders Forum.

As 2023 Middleton Scholar, Matt will contribute to the global cancer care conversation through development and networking opportunities with Icon Group partners at UICC and C/Can. This includes participation in London Global Cancer Week.

Since its launch in 2018 at UICC’s World Cancer Congress, the Middleton Scholarship has continued to provide unique professional development opportunities for Icon employees.
