International Cancer Institute

The International Cancer Institute (ICI) is a leading organisation with a proactively evolving approach in care, research, training, and advocacy focusing on cancer control in Sub-Saharan Africa. Our mission is to prevent and cure cancer through pioneering interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research, translating new knowledge into better prevention and treatment, and providing effective and compassionate clinical care that improves the lives of patients with cancer and their families. Our four key pillars are: 1. Education & Training – We provide regional multi-disciplinary cancer trainings to optimise cancer care in Sub-Saharan Africa. 2. Clinical Care – We provide optimal cancer care and treatment to the communities we serve. 3. Research & Development – We support and conduct research that in turn leads to discovery of new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and other non-communicable diseases. 4. Advocacy – Raising awareness at local, national and international levels through mass public education on the importance of cancer screening and early detection.
