Host the World Cancer Congress 2028

UICC Full Members are invited to formally express an interest in hosting the World Cancer Congress, UICC's flagship event.

The event attracts over 2,000 attendees from across the cancer community and provides a unique opportunity for a host country and host member organisation to raise their profile globally in the fight against cancer and leave a long lasting impact regionally. 

Organisations that have hosted the World Cancer Congress in the past have reported that the event has been invaluable in supporting their efforts to make cancer a priority in their national and regional health agendas. Host organisations of the World Cancer Congress have also benefitted from unparalleled networking and partnership opportunities and increased their visibility with governments, international organisations, NGOs, cancer affiliations, patient support groups, research institutes, care centres, academia and the corporate sector.

Several organisations in the same country can collaborate to act as hosts for the World Cancer Congress.

Bidding process

The World Cancer Congress is planned to take place in September/October 2028.

Please find below the main steps to follow when submitting your expression of interest: 

• A letter of expression of interest from the CEO of your organisation indicating institutional support and commitment.
• A letter of support from the proposed convention bureau mentioning the destination’s capacity in hosting an event of such calibre.
• The confirmation that your organisation will provide the necessary financial investment.
