AMR Control Supplement

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a growing public health issue that needs urgent attention, especially within the cancer community. The significant and growing threat of AMR is undermining key advances being made in cancer care by adversely affecting cancer treatment outcomes and threatening the survival of people living with cancer. As many as 1 in 5 cancer patients undergoing treatment are hospitalized due to infection and antibiotics are the main line of defence. Action to address AMR for better cancer care outcomes is urgently needed. 

To sustain focus on the issue and mobilize action on addressing AMR, this is a special supplement of AMR Control emphasizing the impact of AMR on cancer care outcomes and was launched at the World Cancer Congress 2022.
