Pediatric Cancer Registry Launched in Guatemala

During a 2 day workshop organised by the Dana Farber Cancer Institute

The Guatemalan Pediatric Cancer Registry was recently launched during a two-day workshop organised by the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Held on 9-10 January in Guatemala City, Guatemala, the workshop aimed to raise awareness and understanding of the importance of establishing population-based pediatric cancer registries as a first step for ministries of health to honor global cancer surveillance commitments embedded in the WHO Global Action Plan on NCDs. More than 80 participants attended including ministry of health officials, physicians, cancer registrars and data managers from countries in the central american and caribbean region.
