Tobacco Atlas – Cancer Control Webinar

The webinar will take place on Friday 23 October 2015 from 9:00 to 10:00am EDT (New York City, USA) / UTC-4 hours.

The webinar, Investing in Tobacco Control is Investing in Cancer Control, is presented by the National Cancer Institute’s Center for Global Health (CGH) and the American Cancer Society (ACS), with the World Lung Foundation.

Hosted by CGH Director, Dr Ted Trimble, and ACS’s Vice President of Economic and Health Policy Research, Dr Jeff Drope, the webinar will discuss how tobacco control should feature prominently within broader cancer control strategies and activities. The presenters will first place tobacco control within the cancer control paradigm and demonstrate its status as an extraordinary public health “best buy.”

The team will then present the tobacco control activities and interventions that are proven as both highly effective and cost-effective, including tobacco taxation, marketing bans, smokefree policies, graphic warning labels and mass media campaigns. The webinar will end with a moderated Q&A/discussion with participants.
