I Can Serve Foundation

The Philippines doesn't have an early cancer detection program. Its universal health care coverage for cancer patients is very limited. The financial burden on patients is back breaking. The ICANSERVE Foundation partners with local government units to institutionalize a community-based early breast cancer detection program via an ordinance which also assures of an annual budget for the program and provisions to pay in full or heavily subsidize diagnostics and cancer treatments for breast cancer at any stage. The ICANSERVE Foundation trains the medical team of the local government unit, demonstrates how to do a breast cancer forum, free roving breast clinic, and institutionalizes a patient navigation program. We're also in the process of banding with other patient groups to work on the passage of a Cancer Act. ICANSERVE is co-chairing this Cancer coalition.
