Humanity at Heart International Association (H@H) is a registered non-profit organisation in Cameroon with a mission to bring hope to the hopeless by raising public awareness about the importance of cancer prevention and facilitating access to early diagnosis and timely treatment across the female population. Our vision is to see a healthy and productive society where every woman has equitable access to information on cancer care. We work in communities to improve community knowledge on Breast and cervical health, influencing women's attitudes and behaviours/cultural beliefs towards these two main cancers, while empowering these women to make informed decisions to adhere to screening and timely treatment. We have regrouped our work into five main workstreams to bring our services closer to the women in the communities.1. Breast and Cervical Health/Cancer Education: We educate and raise public awareness about breast and cervical cancer prevention2. Patient Navigation: We link up women to breast and cervical cancer screening services and guide those with suspicious findings towards timely treatment at partner health facilities3. Wellness Counselling: We provide emotional and psychosocial support, pre- and post-cancer treatment4. Policy-Based Advocacy: We actively promote policies aimed at reducing cancer incidence and ensuring accessible and affordable healthcare for all Cameroonian women, while also highlighting the challenges faced by cancer patients and advocating for better access to treatment and palliative care free from stigma and financial hardship.5. Empowerment of Cancer Survivors: Our advocacy extends beyond treatment, focusing on the quality of life for survivors. We empower survivors and enable them to share their stories to encourage other women.H@H believes in a collaborative approach, working alongside communities, oncology experts, health leaders, and governments nationally, as well as international cancer organisations, to strengthen our efforts in cancer control.
