Header Paragraph

We are pleased to announce that our member the National Cancer Institute of Mexico (INCan) will host the 2017 World Cancer Leaders’ Summit, giving a unique Latin American flavor to our yearly high-level policy meeting.

INCan has been a UICC Member since 1962. Its mission focuses on health care, education, training and research in oncology in Mexico. The Institute was also appointed by the Mexican Secretary of Health to coordinate the development of its National Cancer Control Plan (NCCP).

“We are very proud to welcome the World Cancer Leaders’ Summit for the first time in Mexico and generally in Latin America. It gives a strong message to our communities and underpins our ambition to strengthen the national collaboration between all sectors to continue to develop a comprehensive NCCP and cancer registry.

“Convening top leaders in health and cancer control for a two day Summit in Mexico also means to increase the profile of our country and the whole Latin American Region, and create opportunities for new international collaborations with major multisectoral players and decision-makers from around the world. I don’t see a better way to keep cancer high on the international public health agenda and support the World Cancer Declaration Targets”, commented Dr A. Meneses, Director, INCan.
