The Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer joins efforts to get the early screening test for colon cancer, a right for all in Spain.

Header Paragraph

The Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer (AECC) has sent a petition to the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equity, to request the implementation of the population screening programme in colorectal cancer in all Spain.

The AECC considers that the implementation of this programme is a right of citizens and an unavoidable duty of the State as it would help to save thousands of lives and prevent more inequity within Spain.

  • Colon cancer has the highest burden among men and women.
  • Every year, nearly 15,000 people in Spain die from colon cancer. Many of these deaths can be prevented.
  • Colorectal cancer can be cured in 90% of the cases when detected early. Today, a screening programme could save 3,600 lives. In Spain, only 14% of the at-risk population can benefit from this programme.

Help to avoid this injustice. Your signature can save lives.
