UICC is dedicated to taking the lead in convening, capacity building and advocacy initiatives that unite the cancer community to reduce the global cancer burden, promote greater equity, and integrate cancer control into the world health and development agenda.

Founded in 1933 and based in Geneva, Switzerland, UICC is the largest and oldest international cancer organisation. With over 1,100 members and 56 partners across 170 countries, UICC features the world’s major cancer societies, ministries of health, research and treatment institutes, patient groups, and industry leaders.

Summary of the position

The Finance and Administration team supports all of UICC teams in delivering their long-term ambitions set out in the Business Plan.
The Apprenti(e) Employé(e) de commerce will participate and provide support to manage financial and accounting procedures assisting the Senior Accountant to contribute to the organisational financial operation. In addition, s/he will actively collaborate with the rest of the team to deliver various operational and administrative tasks.

Main responsibilities

  • Support in managing payment processes
  • Coordinate the management of corporate credit cards
  • Participate in the invoicing process and membership’s budget management
  • Provide assistance in monthly account closing
  • Manage the info@uicc.org email account
  • Support in office coordination such as post mailings, placing orders, welcoming visitors and answering phone calls

Skills and competencies

  • Certificate of secondary school
  • French or English mother tongue and with excellent knowledge of the other language.
  • Enthusiastic  and organised
  • At ease with numbers.
  • Interest for budgeting and accounting is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel and Microsoft programs would be appreciated.
