Second Global Partner to Join NCD Alliance Steering Group

Today, on its fifth anniversary, the NCD Alliance has announced Management Sciences for Health (MSH) as the second global partner to join the NCD Alliance Steering Group. The NCD Alliance announced only three weeks ago it was expanding its governance structure to include a broader set of voices and representatives from the global non-communicable disease (NCD) community. Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI) became the first new global partner to join the Steering Group, providing valuable perspectives on mental and neurological disorders.
 
MSH, an international non-profit organisation, uses proven approaches developed over four decades to help leaders, health managers, and communities in developing nations build stronger health systems for greater health impact. MSH worked in 73 countries last year and has offices in 40 countries.
 
“In joining the NCD Alliance, MSH will help amplify our impact from global to local levels,” said Mr Cary Adams, Chair of the NCD Alliance. “As an organisation with extensive knowledge and expertise in health systems strengthening and integration, coupled with a demonstrable commitment and focus on NCDs, their focus on innovation, evidence generation, and advocacy will add significant value to the strategy and operations of the NCD Alliance”.

It is crucial that governments recognize their multiple partners in-country—including the private sector, NGOs, civil society, and academics. All play leading roles in this movement. ”
