Registration for the Breast Cancer Workshop on early detection

Registration to the WCC22 Breast Cancer Workshop

Advancing early detection of breast cancer in resource-limited settings

As part of the World Cancer Congress educational programme, UICC is delighted to offer delegates a workshop focused on the early detection of breast cancer, which will be held on Thursday 20 October in Geneva, from 2pm – 5pm. The workshop is in-person only.

This interactive session, organised by UICC in collaboration with the WHO Global Breast Cancer Initiative (GBCI), will explore how civil society and other stakeholders can coordinate efforts to improve early detection of breast cancer in resource-limited settings.

Many cases of cancer in lower-income regions are diagnosed at an advanced stage, when they are much harder to treat effectively. Improving the early detection of breast cancer will contribute to saving 2.5 million lives by 2040 according to the targets laid out by the GBCI.

The number of spaces for the workshop is limited and we are currently reviewing the expressions of interest received in August. Spaces will be attributed in September, ensuring a geographical representation of participants and diversity of actors active in breast cancer control.
