We need your feedback!
You are invited to participate in an e-consultation on the World Cancer Declaration that aims to refresh its targets and priority actions to ensure they are aligned with the recently adopted global Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) framework, and the ongoing Post-2015 discussions.
The feedback from this consultation will be used to refresh the Declaration that will be presented to government officials and high-level policy makers during the World Cancer Leaders’ Summit that will be held in South Africa, on 18-19 November, 2013.
The e-consultation does not aim to change and/or reinvent the Declaration but rather to refresh the language used to broaden its scope. The consultation will have two phases that will give you the chance to:
Phase 1: provide comments on different sections of the current declaration that you think may need improvement (from now until 19 July 2013).
Phase 2: provide additional comments on a revised version of the Declaration that will be developed in consultation with UICC Board of Directors (August-September 2013).
Also, please note that you can make your comments in the language of your preference between English, Spanish, and French.
In light of the recent developments in the fight against NCDs, there is a need to more closely align the World Cancer Declaration with the emerging global NCD framework and post-2015 development agenda to be able to reach out to the broader health and development community, and ensure its long-term delivery. The World Cancer Declaration was written at a time where NCDs were not being addressed as a coherent ensemble. With this refreshed version, we aim to bridge this gap.
Provide your comments HERE by 19 JULY 2013.
