Featured Resources – December 2017

An article discussing the Knowledge Summaries for Comprehensive Breast Cancer Control has recently been published in the Journal of Global Oncology and can be freely accessed here.

The article discusses the objectives and method of development of the summaries, their format and usage. The main points of each Knowledge Summary are also addressed.

The Knowledge Summaries for Comprehensive Breast Cancer Control are the product of a multi-year collaboration led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), Breast Health Global Initiative (BHGI), Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and Center for Global Health (CGH) of the U.S. National Cancer Institute (NCI).

Fourteen knowledge summaries have been developed as a tool to help policy makers identify and prioritise resource-appropriate interventions across the continuum of care. The Knowledge Summaries draw on current evidence and best-practice. Each summary focuses on a different element of planning, prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment and care and can be used as standalone summaries to check and challenge current activities or collectively as a series to design a new comprehensive strategy.
