Since 1976, UICC Technical Fellowships have offered over 4,000 cancer professionals international training opportunities to gain skills and knowledge in cancer control. In response to the travel restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021, UICC launched the Virtual Fellowships to provide opportunities for training to individuals working at UICC member organisations via a series of video calls, as an alternative to in-person visits.
This year, for the first time, the programme is accepting applications for visits of two to eight weeks, allowing applicants more flexibility and ensuring that the length of the visit can be tailored to best support the Fellowships objectives.
The calls are open until the end of the year and applicants can apply at any time. Although submissions can be related to any field in cancer control, the Fellowships particularly welcome applications this year that address cancer prevention, early detection, cancer in older populations and breast and cervical cancers.
