15th February is International Childhood Cancer Day

Working with our partners in paediatric oncology

Header Paragraph

Friday, 15th February is ICCD and we are taking the opportunity to celebrate the day with our partners. Find out more about UICC's MCM partnership with Sanofi Espoir Foundation and our promotion of childhood cancer signs and symptoms with SIOP.

MCM

The My Child Matters (MCM) initiative, launched in 2005, is an innovative partnership between UICC and the Sanofi Espoir Foundation to reduce inequities in childhood cancer survival in low and mid-income countries.

On ICCD we have the pleasure to announce renewal of the partnership and new awards over the next three year period. Please refer to the press kit available in English and French in the left hand tab bar.

SIOP

Established in 1969, the International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP), with over 1500 members and a member organisation of UICC, is the lead professional organisation concerned with the issues of children and young people who have cancer.

On ICCD, SIOP and ICCCPO have launched a campaign to address signs and symptoms of childhood cancer. Click here to access the campaign's website. UICC will be working with the My Child Matters network to support the campaign, as announced in the joint UICC-SIOP press release.

Read Marius's story about his cancer to see how signs and symptoms play a key role in early detection.

St. Jude Cure4Kids

St. Jude Cure4Kids is organising a Global Webcast for ICCD, with speakers from St. Jude, ICCCPO, Sanofi Espoir Foundation and two MCM project mentors presenting on their organisations' work and on the situation of the disease in Africa and in Paraguay. Join in between 9-10am Central Standard Time. Register now! and find the webcast programme here.
