"The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) unites and supports the cancer community to reduce the global cancer burden, to promote greater equity, and to ensure that cancer control continues to be a priority in the world health and development agenda."
The ICCP Portal is a one-stop stop for cancer prevention and control planning. It hosts topic-specific networks across the cancer care continuum that identifies best practices, key resources and gaps in those fields.
Established in 1994, Velindre NHS Trust provides a range of specialist services at local, regional and all Wales levels. Delivering quality, care and excellence to our patients and donors is at the heart of our organisation.
Our services include:
Velindre Cancer Centre
Velindre Cancer Centre in Whitchurch, Cardiff, provides specialist cancer services to people living in South East Wales and is one of the 10 largest cancer centres in the UK. As one of the largest acute cancer centres in the UK, each year we provide over 50,000 outpatient appointments. The Cancer Centre is a specialist treatment, teaching and research and development centre for non-surgical oncology, treating patients with chemotherapy, radiotherapy and related treatments, and caring for patients with specialist palliative care needs. We have a vibrant research and development programme and are currently developing our proton and regenerative medicine services.
The Welsh Blood Service
The Welsh Blood Service plays a fundamental role in the delivery of healthcare in Wales. It works to ensure that the donor’s gift of blood is transformed into safe and effective blood components which allow NHS Wales to improve the quality of life and save the lives of many thousands of people in Wales every year, as well as providing stem cells to support BMT services in 36 countries world wide.
