The mandate of Centre for Chronic Disease Prevention and Control (CCDPC) is to provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of integrated chronic disease prevention and control strategies. The group must also work with relevant stakeholders at national and international levels to ensure an integrated approach to chronic disease prevention and control. The CCDPC is a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre on Non-Communicable Disease Policy. It works with stakeholders at all levels to provide pan-Canadian and international leadership in chronic disease prevention and control through integrated policy and program development, surveillance, and knowledge development and dissemination. The organization focuses on knowledge development and dissemination, building and disseminating the evidence base on best practices and lessons learned to support chronic disease policies and programs. Their policy and program developments support initiatives that inform on comprehensive approaches to chronic disease prevention and control. CCDPC was accepted as full UICC member in 2002.
