The Cancer Atlas, 2nd Edition launched in Hindi

The American Cancer Society partnered with the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and Tata Memorial Center to launch the Hindi version of the Cancer Atlas at the inaugural session of the 37th annual International Association of Cancer Registries conference held in Mumbai from 7-10 October 2015.

The Hindi version of the Cancer Atlas was launched by Maharashtra's Minister for Health at the inaugural session of the Conference on 8 October. Dr Rajendra Badwe, Director of Tata Memorial Center, Dr Freddie Bray, Section Head of the Cancer Surveillance Section at IARC and co-author of the Atlas, and Dr Joannie Lortet-Tieulent, Senior Epidemiologist at the American Cancer Society spoke on the occasion.

The Cancer Atlas is the result of a joint initiative between the American Cancer Societythe International Agency for Research on Cancer, and the Union for International Cancer Control to give the global cancer community a new tool in the fight against cancer. The Atlas provides leaders worldwide with actionable data and insights to make better decisions, in order to work toward putting an end to the cancer epidemic.

The Cancer Atlas, 2nd Edition is also available in English, French, Spanish and Russian. It is currently being translated into Arabic, Chinese, Farsi and Turkish which will be launched in the coming months. For more information please contact: advocacy@uicc.org
