2018 World Cancer Congress Regional Meetings

Call for collaborative initiatives

In the context of the next regional meetings that will gather UICC members from all regions at the 2018 World Cancer Congress in Kuala Lumpur, the UICC team is engaging its members at an early stage to invite them to share their collaborative initiatives in which they have been involved, to be featured during the event.

The best two initiatives will be invited to prepare a case study to be presented in one of the regional meetings at the WCC 2018 in Kuala Lumpur. All initiatives will also be compiled in a list that will be made available to other UICC Members. Please note that the information provided in the form will be used in the context of this list.

A limited number of travel grants will be available for participants from low- and middle-countries.

We define a collaborative initiative as “two or more organisations working together towards a shared goal”. Collaborative initiatives can be national, regional or international. Collaborations may also be multisectoral eg. civil society, government, private sector, foundations, etc.

Preference will be given to collaborations that exhibit innovative models of engagement and outcomes as well as those which have the potential to be replicated in other countries or settings.

!NEW - UICC Award for the best collaborative initiative:

By submitting their collaborations, UICC members will automatically enrol to win the UICC Award of the best collaborative initiative. The awards are a new UICC initiative that recognises the oustanding work of UICC members around the world. The award ceremony will be taking place during the UICC General Assembly on Congress day 2 - Tuesday 2 October. The Award will be based on criteria such as impact, replicability and innovation.
