Header Paragraph

Enabling health care workers to improve cancer outcomes in Africa

Last year UICC, supported by the American Cancer Society, launched the African Cancer Fellowship programme linked to the 2018 World Cancer Congress for cancer professionals working in Africa. The goal of this initiative is to enable health care workers to improve cancer outcomes in Africa.

The 15 awarded fellows are from countries throughout Africa including Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania and Tunisia

Fellowship topics are relevant to cancer care delivery and cancer control, including cancer registries, cancer prevention and screening, treatment, service delivery and patient education.

Several awardees have chosen to visit locations within Africa for their fellowships, which will allow regional collaborations and networking, with others going further afield.
