World Cancer Day - is a memorable date celebrated annually on February 4. It was proclaimed by the "Union for International Cancer Control " (UICC). The purpose of this international day is to raise awareness of cancer as one of the most terrible diseases of modern civilization, and to draw attention to the prevention, revealing and treatment of this disease.

It is known that 43% cases of cancer could be prevented by adherence to several rules of a healthy lifestyle:
• Preventing of access to smoking for children, fighting against childish smoking.
• Physical activity, balanced and healthy food.
• Vaccination against virus causing liver cancer and cervical cancer.
• Avoidance of prolonged sun exposure and tanning salons.

Several events in the Tver region are timed to this date and will be held on the basis of the Tver Regional Oncology Center or with participation of its oncologists.

On January 31 it will be held an on-site reception in Ostashkov district CRH with the assistance of the "Women's health" foundation. As part of the reception it will be held a diagnostics for everyone wants to, as well as conversations and consultations.

On February 2 it will be held a meeting with Carriage Building Plant employees in Tver. Chief Tver region freelance oncologist Inna Kirillovna Rumyantseva will make a report about prevention of cancer.

On February 3 doctor-mammologist Irina Evstigneeva will lecture before the faculty of the Tver Lyceum № 10. The subject of the report is prevention and early detection of breast cancer.
On February 4 an "Open Day" will take place at the polyclinic of the Regional Oncology Center at Tver, 57 / 37, 15 October Anniversary Street, from 9:00 to 13:00. Leading oncologists - mammologist, proctologist, a dermatologist, a gynecologist, an otolaryngologist, a urologist, and psychologist - will hold appointments. Laboratory and ultrasound will be available.
All diagnostics will be conducted by appointment.
