Wereld Kanker Onderzoek Fonds (WCRF NL) - awareness raising activities
Wereld Kanker Onderzoek Fonds (World Cancer Research Fund Netherlands) is delighted to be supporting UICC's World Cancer Day in several ways:
- WCRF NL was proud to be invited by Nyse Euronext to take part in the opening ceremony of a trading session at the Dutch Stock Exchange to mark World Cancer Day and to help raise awareness of this important event. WCRF Netherlands Board member, Willy Angenent, sounded the gong and was accompanied by members of the WCRF NL team.
- We sent out a press release about the projected rise in cancer cases in the Netherlands by 2030. We announced the figures to mark World Cancer Day on February 4 and to draw attention to the rising burden of cancer. WCRF NL also took the opportunity to highlight its estimate that about one-third of the most common cancers could be prevented through eating a healthy diet, being physically active and keeping off excess weight.
