VI^ NATIONAL CANCER SURVIVORS DAY

The National Cancer Survivors Day is the center of F.A.V.O. activity. It is realized with the contribution of more than 400 federated associations and with the participation of some of the most important scientific and institutional authorities.

The National Cancer Survivors Day was formally established by the Government in January 2006 after F.A.V.O. had requested its proclamation to join the worldwide event that is held annually to demonstrate that “life after a cancer diagnosis can be a reality”. As in most countries, the Italian event is observed on the third Sunday in May. The first National Cancer Survivors Day took place in Rome on June 3-4, 2006, the second event was held in Naples on June 2, 2007, the third was held in Milan, the fourth in Taranto, the fifth in Rome.
