UICC celebrates 1,000 member organisations

UICC is proud to officially announce the landmark achievement of reaching 1,000 member organisations in over 160 countries.

Header Paragraph

As a membership based organisation, the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) is dedicated to improving its members' involvement in the different initiatives and offers proposed in the scope of UICC’s three key areas of focus: convening, capacity building and advocacy.

UICC's membership growth over the last years has been outstanding, thanks to the support and engagement of a large and diverse cancer community around the world.

"I wish to congratulate the UICC team on the landmark achievement of reaching 1,000 member organisations. This step is historic. Never before has an international cancer organisation brought together this number of cancer groups from around the globe under a common platform. This is not just an important step for UICC - it is important to the world as cancer has become the leading cause of human mortality. Never before has humankind had the tools to address the pain and suffering caused by cancer, creating a humanitarian mandate to provide global access. UICC is taking its rightful place in history as the organisation that will work with stakeholders and policy makers to deliver the prevention, treatment and palliative care to the people who need it most. I thank every individual for the work who has made this milestone possible. Bravo to all," congratulated Benjamin Anderson, Chair of the UICC Membership Committee and UICC Board Member.
