Self chec's Facebook Takeover

Whether you're a man or a woman, touching yourself can help save your life.

Join Self chec today, World Cancer Day, and take action to fight against cancer and other chronic diseases.

The chance of getting cancer can be greatly decreased through different preventative measures. Most people are reactive when it comes to their health but do not practice prevention. Self chec's goal is to create a cultural shift from fear and denial about personal healthcare, to awareness and self-empowerment. In coordination with World Cancer Day today we’re asking everyone to spread the message of prevention through a Facebook takeover.

We are encouraging people to post profile pictures of themselves that mimic our Love Yourself First campaign. If someone is not comfortable with posting a picture of themselves, they are asked to post one of the Love Yourself First ads.

To keep the Facebook movement growing, participants are asked to add “Practice prevention, touch yourself. http://on.fb.me/selfchec” in the description section of their profile picture.

The Love Yourself First campaign was designed to shock people into action. The idea of this campaign is simple and powerful: use arresting visuals and a tongue-in-cheek tone to raise awareness about self-check exams.

Our hope is that this campaign will be felt by millions and those millions of people, in turn, start feeling themselves.
