Roundtable Celebrating Breast Cancer Early Detection and Survivorship: A World Cancer Day Event in Tbilisi, Georgia
Georgian and American medical professionals, cancer survivors, advocacy experts and NGO leaders will gather on Saturday at the National Screening Center in Tbilisi Georgia for a roundtable discussion on recent advances in breast cancer early detection and survivorship in Georgia. The meeting will also lay the groundwork for the 6th biennial Eastern Europe and Central Asia Breast Cancer Awareness, Advocacy and Outreach Summit to be held in Georgia in 2013.
Participants in the roundtable from Georgia will include Dr. Rema Gamichava from the National Screening Center in Tbilisi, Dr. Levan Jugeli, Tamara Komasuridze (UNFPA), Maka Maglakelidze (RHC), Tiniko Beruchashvili, Tamar Chitalshvili (URI), Nata Avaliani (NCDC), along with breast cancer patients and advocates. From the United States, participants will include Dr. Julie Gralow and Ksenia Koon from the University of Washington/Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center/Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and Allison Dvaladze from the Ellison Center for Russian, East European and Central Asian Studies at the University of Washington in Seattle.
