Radio Programme on World Cancer Day 2012
Cancer is common in this part of India with socially accepted habits like chewing tobacco and occupations like agriculture. Also with people catching up on dietary patterns like those of western countries, GIT cancers are on the rise. Customs like Devadasi aid in increasing the burden of cervical cancers as well as that of STDs like HIV/ AIDS.
To create and strengthen the awareness of the people in this regard, a live radio programme is being conducted by SDM College of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Dharwad, Karnataka, India.
The speaker is Dr Umesh R Dixit, who is currently working as Assistant Professor in the department of Community Medicine.
