Educational training in basic concepts of cancer screening and population registry for health care professionals
which first and foremost requires from them to popularise screening and collect valid data for cancer registry in their respective territories.
Planning for anti-cancer activities should be based upon realistic statistical information, comparable with the data from other countries, and should take into consideration the recommendations from reputable international organisations. This on its part requires the creation of a coherent and standardised system; a computerised network for the population cancer registry with national, regional and district levels that would allow the formation of a unified informational space and facilitate the monitoring and permanent control of cancer patients.
Family-centered care became important and oncology nurses are the link between the patient, parent and family, and the physician. The nurse should provide clinical care, education, and support.
The nurses should be educated and mentored by the physicians with whom they work. Eventually continuing education programs must be developed to provide nurses to assist with data collection and patient evaluation, as progress in treatment improved through screening programme evaluations.
