The aim of the meeting is to discuss public health needs for treatable cancers in global health settings and to discuss potential low cost cancer detection and diagnostic technologies for low income countries.

Cancer Detection and Diagnostics Technologies for Global Health
The National Institute of Health (NIH) is organizing a conference entitled “Cancer Detection and Diagnostics Technologies for Global Health” to be held on August 22-23, 2011on the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland.
The aim of the meeting is to discuss public health needs for treatable cancers in global health settings and to discuss potential low cost cancer detection and diagnostic technologies for low income countries.

The conference’s goal is to facilitate new scientific collaborations and interactions, and to build new research programs in this important field in order to promote the translation of new technologies into clinical applications.
