"The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) unites the cancer community to reduce the global cancer burden, to promote greater equity, and to integrate cancer control into the world health and development agenda."
The ICCP Portal is a one-stop stop for cancer prevention and control planning. It hosts topic-specific networks across the cancer care continuum that identifies best practices, key resources and gaps in those fields.
Latest international advocacy news: palliative care resolution to be adopted during the World Health Assembly next month and High-Level NCD review to take place in New York in July as a follow-up of the 2011 High-Level NCD meeting
UICC is organising a side event at WHA to share concrete and successful models of integration of palliative care into health systems.
High-Level NCD Review (10-11 July, New York)
This will be the second time that non-communicable diseases (NCDs) have a standalone political meeting. It will be a critical opportunity to take stock on progress, share successes and lessons learned, challenges and opportunities, and recommendations to guide the NCD response beyond 2014.
The meeting will result in a concise, focused, action-oriented outcome document.
As an NGO with ECOSOC status, UICC will have the possibility to register for both events – as soon as we have more information about the registration process and engagement opportunities for UICC members, we will reach out to the membership.
