News 05 May 2015 Nepal Earthquake Impacted All- Including People with Cancer UICC member organisation Tulasi Maya Memorial Cancer Relief Foundation of Nepal is distributing tents and basic relief materials to cancer victim families. Header Paragraph Following the devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake which hit Nepal on 25 April, killing more than 7,500 people and injuring more than 15,000, UICC member organisation Tulasi Maya Memorial Cancer Relief Foundation of Nepal is distributing tents and basic relief materials to cancer victim families. The Foundation hopes to continue their support to include treatment for victims. Tulasi Maya Memorial Cancer Relief Foundation is based in Kathmandu and has been primarily focused on anti-cancer campaigns and screening initiatives. Following the earthquake, the Foundation is working rapidly to provide basic needs to victims. With some local support, Tulasi Maya Memorial Cancer Relief Foundation has already distributed 20 tents and basic relief materials to 200 people, but many thousands of people are still living out in the open- homeless and without food or basic supplies. The Foundation plans to distribute the following materials in the impacted areas: 200 tents Washing Soap, medicines, masks and other relief materials to 1,000 people Rice for 1,000 people The above activities are desperately needed, and will cost approximately 10,000 US Dollars.
