Turkish Association for Cancer Research and Control 2009 case study

We have many “Firsts in Cancer Control in Turkey” in our history including the first cancer NGO, first cancer hospital, first prevention campaign, first national cancer congress, first cancer patient forums, first cancer statistics collection and some others”.

We hosted the UICC Cancer Prevention Workshop in İstanbul in July 2009 with an international participance. Our World Cancer Day activities are getting much more effective and visible as a cancer prevention & control campaign. We were able to reach 15 million people around Turkey by informing them about the campaign themes.
