Tata Memorial Centre [TMC] is an autonomous grant-in-aid institution under the administrative control of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. TMC comprises two entities, the Tata Memorial Hospital [TMH] and the Advanced Centre for Training Education & Research [ACTREC]. The mission of the Tata Memorial Centre is to provide comprehensive cancer care through outstanding service with best practices ensuring patient safety, research and education in cancer for students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public. Comprehensive cancer care services are offered to patients registering with TMC and availing treatment at TMH and at ACTREC (exclusively for patients enrolled in research protocols) either as outpatients or inpatients. TMC registers close to 35,000 new patients every year and the OPD attendance crosses 3 lac patients annually. TMC has 564 patient beds at TMH and 50 at ACTREC. TMC provides prevention and early detection services, multidisciplinary site specific therapy, rehabilitation and palliation. TMC imparts education and undertakes basic and clinical research in the field of cancer. Since 1968, TMI has been full UICC member.
