HEALTH Soleterre promotes intervention to support already existing health facilities, or where none are available, the creation of health centers ex novo. Soleterre promotes health education and awareness programs as well as training for medical and paramedical personnel. We promoted an International Pediatric Oncology Program (IPOP) with the objective of promoting prevention and early diagnoses and treatment as well as the opening of welcoming houses for children with cancer. MIGRATION Several of Soleterre’s projects are implemented in countries with high migration rates towards Italy. Thanks to collaboration with the local communities that benefit from our interventions abroad and with their migrants associations in Italy, we designed interventions to promote economical and social development abroad and to sustain the migrants and their families migration process: we provide legal, psychological, social, employment, and career support. RIGHTS In contexts of poverty and violence, the most vulnerable people are children, youth, women, migrants, and minority groups. Soleterre intervenes to promote participation and social cohesion, to increase selfawareness and respect for people’s rights, and to eliminate discrimination and violence.
