National Ukrainian Foundation "Zaporuka"

"Zaporuka" is aimed to guarantee little patients and their families essential services such as as they combat cancer.

In the sphere of healthcare: Zaporuka aims to provide foods and nourishment during the hospital stay and chemotherapy; provide a supply of the sanitary (gloves, sheets, etc.) and medical (syringes, needles, etc.) consumables which are not guaranteed by the state healthcare system in order to improve conditions of the hospital stay and treatment of the children; provide endowments to buy medical devices in the department, both for diagnostics and surgery.

National Ukrainian Foundation "Zaporuka" became a UICC member in July 2009.

In the psycho-social sphere: The foundation aims to offer psychological assistance and legal consultations to
children and their parents, providing parents who have just come to the department with necessary information. This service is carried both in the department and in a Service Centre opened not far from the hospital where children and their parents can go every day and be welcomed by the dedicated staff.

In the sphere of education: Zaporuka aims to guarantee continuous activities of entertainment, art therapy and educational support to the children and teenagers provided by the Smile Team.
