National Cancer Control Foundation
National Cancer Control Foundation is member of the Gulf Federation for Cancer Control, a federation of seven organizations in the united arab emirates. It has opened a first specialized tumors center in Yemen just two years ago in May 2005.
In addition to assisting regional hospitals with cancer wards, the association operates the first breast cancer unit serving almost five hundred patients. Around five thousand patients benefit from radio- and chemotherapy facilities.
Mobile cancer units with diagnostic equipment travel around the countryside bringing free treatment to population living in most secluded places. The association carries out cancer awareness programs on national radio, TV and paper media. It also publishes it own periodical: Al-Hayah.
National Cancer Control Foundation was admitted as a member of UICC in may 2007.
