Meherbai Tata Memorial Hospital

Meherbai Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH) was established to fulfill a long-felt need, especially of the deprived tribals of the region. The Hospital, funded generously by Miserior and the House of Tatas, functions under the guidance of Governing Council, Board of Trustees and Ladies Committee of devoted social workers. It has grown from an initial 24 beds to a present strength of 72 beds.

The Hospital is now recognised by the Government of India as an "institute of oncology and cancer research & training." The hospital is equipped with some of the latest treatment and diagnostic facilities and undertakes treatment of all types of malignant and other diseases.

Besides serving the local population of Jharkhand, it extends its services to government and non government organisations like SAIL, HEC, HCL, CCL, ACC, IEL and the Railways. It is a recognised referral institution and patients come from UP, MP, Orissa, Assam, West Bengal, Nepal and many other states.

In recognition of its outstanding performance in the field of Oncology, the hospital has been elected a member of UICC and registered under the Society Act.

In 1984, TMH was accepted as a UICC full member.
