MAHAK "Society to Support Children Suffering from Cancer"

MAHAK Society to Support Children suffering from Cancer was set up as a non profit, non-governmental organization in 1991 after a mother experienced having a child with cancer. As Children’s Hematology-Oncology Research Center and Hospital, MAHAK acts as a refuge and has been active in providing financial aid for treatment and other expenses, therapeutic and pharmaceutical guidance, contact establishment between families, increased public awareness, and accommodation for children and two family members. MAHAK’s executive plans include facilitating transport for patients traveling for treatment, assessing capabilities in the country for potential and practicality as well as the demographic spread of patients in the country, supporting cancer registry and the establishment of a specialist hospital and cancer center for children. The group looks forward to continuing their international information exchange and international capacity building and supportive care through UICC, where they were accepted as a member orginization in May 2008.
