Macmillan Cancer Support is one of the UK’s leading cancer charities. We provide support to patients, carers, family and friends from diagnosis throughout the cancer journey. Over two million people in the UK are living with or beyond cancer, and this figure is expected to rise to four million by 2030. Macmillan’s ambition is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer and to inspire millions of others to do the same. We provide support and assistance to people affected by cancer in a number of ways. These include: Working in partnership to provide services for people affected by cancer, mainly with the National Health Service (NHS). Developing new, innovative services to meet current and future need. And acting as the voice of people affected by cancer, representing their views and experiences and lobbying and influencing government and decision makers. We work tirelessly to make sure every single person who needs it gets support from our health and social care professionals. To make sure they all receive help with money worries from our advisers. To get to the point where everyone with cancer knows know they can turn to us for a chat with someone who understands. To give people practical support with the everyday things. And to make sure they have access to expert cancer information they can trust. Macmillan Cancer Support was accepted as a full UICC member in 1994.
