Japan Society of Clinical Oncology operates under the principels of: communication, cooperation and promotion of research concerning prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer; by contributing to the progress and dissemination of treatment of cancer, to contribute to the advancement of science and well-being of mankind.

In 1982 Japan Society of Clinical Oncology was accepted as an UICC full member.
