Since 1996, Grounds for Health has been focusing on the elimination of cervical cancer in the developing world. We have active sites in the three countries Mexico, Nicaragua and Tanzania, and are exploring a new site in Peru in February 2012. Our cancer prevention work focuses on collaborative partnerships with rural communities to develop cervical cancer screening and treatment services. With these partnerships, we train local providers in the Single Visit Approach including Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid and cryotherapy, and train community health workers in community empowerment, outreach and education.
